We'll wait for that flyer to come up. While we're waiting on that flyer to come up, I'll give you a couple of things. We have an open skate August 29th at Pecanic Hockey. You can register online. That's the town's open skate. It's free. You just have to rent your skates. And then also, I believe, Councilwoman Merrifield, you have your beach day, right? Yes. On Friday night, August 28th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wading River Beach. It's the Summer's Not Over Yet concert sponsored by our wonderful clerk, Jim Wooten. Thank you very much. I can't wait. It should be fantastic. It's 80s music. All right. And we have the big Racetrack Not Street again this Saturday, August 22nd. They're doing their drag racing series at 3 p.m. And I believe Councilwoman Waski has an announcement. We're waiting on that. Let's do it without the flyer. So it's going to be popping up. Here it is. Okay. Thank you, Justin. On Saturday, August 29th, beginning at noon, we're going to have the Blues on the River, which is being produced by the Lions Club of Kutchog. It's helping out with that, and it's going to be a great event. We have many performances scheduled. It's going to be a great day downtown to walk around, go visit the businesses and restaurants, and have a great day. So I hope to see everybody there. We'll just take a moment to congratulate this past weekend it was a really amazing event called Hockey is Hockey it was held up at the rink and I want to thank the New York Islanders who always help and participate and players like Kyle Palmieri and Steve Webb Ed Westfall, the original captain of the Oregoners was present David Ayers is a very amazing story that those don't know about him he was a Zamboni driver that was pulled in as an emergency goalie and had to go back and put on his gear and won the game. And it's a true NHL kind of hero story. But they all came and gathered this weekend. They had the draft. They had multiple games, men's championships, and roller hockey, ice, women's as well. It was just a phenomenal event, very crowded arena, and just it was great, an opportunity for some of our local high school kids here in the town of Riverhead to actually get on the ice with NHL stars. It was really impressive. So thank you very much for putting on a great show. Pretty cool. That's really cool. I did have one other thing I wanted to mention. The reason we have our late work session today is because we were with Congressman Lolota at two amazing presentations. One at the Riverhead Police Department where he's obtained funds of $250,000 for us for our police department for new vehicles. and also if that wasn't enough we were with him again about an hour later where he presented another check to the town of three hundred and fifty thousand dollars again congressman the loader brought this money to Riverhead and that was for cleaning up it was an old gas station brownfields so that the tanks can be brought up out of the ground and we can read actually get some tax base back on that piece of property so thank you so much to our congressman and our County Exec for bringing that one to his attention. Thank you. That's right. It's harder to have it across the street from the yellow. If people are wondering, yeah, it's by Pulaski, right by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They use it as parking. Yes, yes, sir. Thank you, Councilman Mayfield. It was next on my list. And I think that's great. Yeah, we'll do that. And with that in mind, honoring our PD, as you said he did, he bought those four vehicles. That's incredible. And so with that, we'll ask our town clerk to come up. I have one more quick announcement. I'm sorry. I don't know how I forgot alive on 25 is back in September September 10th Thursday beginning at 5 o'clock it's going to be a major success I can't wait to attend it again hopefully it will not be as hot as it was at our previous event but it's always a good time so absolutely thank you so much those are It was so many great things. Come on up. Oh, wait. No. The end of the summer is great. I mean, starting the 28th every weekend is something. It's good. It's really great. Really, really good. Before you is the monthly report for July. I know we're nearing the end of August, but there's really not much to report on. I know we had a couple of special permits, and we had 14 special event permits, which are all coming to fruition now. and a lot more we had 49 births in Riverhead in July which was nice. Congratulations. Yeah, pretty good. We average about 50 a month but currently now in August we're very happy with hunting licenses the door permits are out marriage licenses everybody's getting September weddings so we get a lot of marriage licenses out. The other thing we're working on in the office is we're investigating through IT different ways of AI transcripts for meetings. It's going to we got a few proposals out the company is just trying to find some price points for that um maybe we can work that in with civic plus so that'll be a not a heavy lift but as that comes in we'll work on that do we we do zooms right we do zoom yeah so um that has a recording ability and it will transcribe it i would look into that right there's different companies that do that i I mean, there's... Well, this is automatic. I mean, if we already have it, I'm just telling you. Yeah. Well, I'm sure Chip's aware of that. Yeah. Yeah, I've been up to his boys a couple times. Right. And the one thing we were doing in our office, Civic Plus offers web services, web classes, and we do. We sign up to everyone that talks about agenda management, talks about next requests, talks about all these things. So just to learn different. So we're always training ourselves to try to get right on top of that so we can help other departments get through that. So that's what we're doing on that. Thanks, Jim. I really appreciate all your help with the forward-facing public that people come in, and you're always willing to help them to either find the right department or whatever. But, yeah, this is a great report. Thank you so much. I'm sorry that I'm the only one on the open session. Well, you know, sometimes being the only one is the best thing.
