Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Kahn. I feel funny calling you Noreen because you were my English teacher and and and a favorite teacher I might add at that. Yes. Of many Riverhead students. But it's great to see you and it's great to see you. You've worked in the town and been active in the town for many years. So thank you for coming tonight. OK. As we start off, we do we have somebody for an invocation tonight? Why, yes, we do, supervisor. I know we do. I'm just teasing. But go ahead and announce her. We are very glad to have once again with us Reverend Mary Cooper and for joining us today as we always appreciate your wonderful work. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, sir. OK. Would you like to stand? Sure. Reverend Cooper, maybe just pull the mic down a little bit. Pull it down? Yeah. There you go. Perfect. Father, we thank you for this beautiful day that you gave to us to rejoice and to be exceedingly glad. We also thank you for the beautiful rainbow and the eclipse. We thank you for this opportunity and to be here and to be here and to be here and to be here and to be here and to be here and to be here as one community, oh God, that we may talk together, we may reason together, that we may pray together, that we may do things that make our community so beautiful. And Lord, we thank you for even on YouTube. They said that Riverhead Town is a place, good place to visit. We ask that you just continue to bless us, lead and guide us. Bless those who serve us, oh God, with wisdom, health and strength, oh God. We give you the strength and the strength of God. We give you the strength and the strength and we praise glory and honor in Jesus' name, amen. Amen. Thank you, Reverend Cooper.
It's official, we're on YouTube. Great. Okay. As we have a community development agency meeting tonight, what we're going to do is get Dawn Thomas down here and we, we open the town board meeting, we're going to close it and we're going to have a meeting with the town board for matters for the CDA. Okay. That, that works. I can have a motion to close the town board meeting and open the community development agency meeting. So moved. Second. All in favor? Aye. All opposed? Okay. The CDA meeting is now open and we will turn it over to our CDA director, Mr. Dawn Thomas. Hello. Do you have Hello. Quick, I just, thank you. Sorry. Sorry about that. We would need open comments on CDA matters only. That's the first item on the agenda. There are no resolutions or minutes from prior meetings to approve, so. Do we have anybody here that would like to comment on the CDA matters only? Seeing nobody in the audience and seeing that we have nobody online, we can go ahead and close the meeting. CDA meeting. So we would need a motion and a second to close the meeting. So moved. Seconded. Waskie. Yes. Merrifield. Yes. Kern. Yes. Rothwell. Yes. Hubbard. Yes. Okay, CDA meeting is closed. That was a great meeting. Thank you. That was painless. That was completely painless. I know. Yeah. Very efficient. Okay. Supervisor. Yes, ma'am. We have announcements. Yes. We have any announcements that anybody would like to make? Councilwoman Waskie. Yes. Thank you, Supervisor. Sunday, April 28th, the Anti-Litter Committee, along with the Town of Riverhead, is hosting an Earth Day cleanup. You can come here by 9 o'clock on that Sunday morning, and we will have bags and pickers and T-shirts available for everyone that is participating. It's going to last only a few hours, and you'll be able to disperse to different areas throughout the township of Riverhead from Wading River to Jamesport. And we would love your participation. So please come on down and help us all out and get things cleaned up. Thank you. I have one. Thank you. Bob, you have one. Yes. So Saturday night is a huge benefit. It's called Rocking for the Homeless at Polish Hall. So this is a great event. Thank you. So this Saturday night, it's usually completely packed. There's a lot of bands that are playing for free to help the cause. So that's it. What time is it? Do you know about it? I don't know. I asked them to send it to me. They didn't get it. OK. All right. One coming. If we get that information, we can maybe put it up online too and let everybody know. Excellent. So I just want to take a moment, Supervisor, on your State of the Town address for the 100 days. You took the opportunity to do that. Thank you. And I want to thank you for your leadership. I know it's been an opportunity to thank all of us. But I think on behalf of all of us now to formally say thank you for your leadership, your guidance. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you since the first of the year. I've been fortunate to work with you for the past two years, three years prior. And I just want to say that it's really been great, your open door policy. And I thank you for your leadership. You're doing a great job. How much? Yeah. Well, thank you. That was very nice. Very nice. I mean, it's really. I appreciate that. Things have really been going well. It makes it happen. And I'm one vote, as everybody is up here. And having the five of us collectively working together has been a blessing for the town. So I appreciate all that each and every one of you do and the assistance. Yeah. And I'll echo that. Thank you. Because the one thing, there was no fat in that speech. It was all meat on the bone. It's just one good thing after the other. And a lot of things that are going on continue to go on. So it's good. Just wait. You know the things we have in the fire right now going on town wide. So they're only going to get better. Absolutely. Absolutely. Thank you so much. OK. I have Denise. Do you have anything? Other than to say thank you again for all your leadership and a great job. Thank you. I had the pleasure today of having a meeting with the good people from the Cornell Cooperative Extension. And I have to tell you, I knew a little bit of what they did. And I'll give you an example. I had a disease in my lawn. And I dug up a sample. And I knew I could take it there. And they would test the soil. And tell me what the pH was. And what maybe the disease was in the grass. And they did. And I had something called red thread disease. And they told me how to treat it and whatnot. So I knew they did that. And also, I had gotten my food service certificate back when my wife and I were in the restaurant business. And I renewed that one other time. And those were the two things I ever dealt with at Cornell Cooperative Extension. After meeting with them today, I was incredibly impressed on the number of programs. And things that they do. And I don't think the general public has any idea. And I'm going to touch on a couple real briefly here. But to get to full effect, I think we may have to ask them to come back to a work session and do a presentation to us. Because they have a little bit of something for everybody. They run the 4-H Youth Development Program, which we kind of knew. Up on Sound Avenue, they have property up there that they've worked with. They run the Peconic Dunes Camp, which is both a day camp and an overnight camp out in the town of South Hold, which has been running for a good number of years and been very successful. They operate the Suffolk County Farm up in Yapank, which is kind of an incredible place to go if you've never been there. They have a Marine Learning Center. And not just one, but they have several locations all around Long Island. And I know they have worked hand in hand with the Learning Center and the Science Center with programs in the past, to put specialty programs together. And they will, if you call them and you have a need for anything that they do, and they don't have a specific program for you, they will actually develop a program specific to your needs and put it together and come out and do the presentation. And they mention things like if you want to learn about llamas, we'll bring a llama out to you and tell you all about llamas and let you learn and touch and pet the llama. They do, you know, they have a lot of programs. They have a lot of programs. They have a lot of programs. They have a lot of programs. They have a lot of technology for touch tanks with marine species, incredible stuff like that. And I suggested that maybe our Summer Recreation Camp, I'm going to put Ray Coyne, our Recreation Director, in touch with them, because they're always looking for things to do with the kids during the Summer Camps, to have them come out and do different programs with them, and they would love to do it. They love to get the call, and they love to put new things together that they don't currently have. So, I think that will be one good way that the town can immediately use them. They're heavily involved in agriculture. Obviously, we know they have the Cornell substation, I'll call it, for lack of a better term, up on Sound Avenue, Sound and Horton. That's all Cornell Cooperative. They have a clean energy program. And Augie, who runs that, as Bob Kern knows, they'll come out and do audits of both your home and your commercial business to let you know where you can make your house more energy efficient, whether it be through lighting or weather stripping or whatever the case may be. They'll come out, and this is all free of charge, all the stuff that they do. They do tons of community education workshops. And just about on anything under the sun, if you go through the information they have, it's just incredible. I was really impressed with the presentation. They can be reached at, their office is right here, Caddy Corner, across from us at 423 Griffin Avenue. They can be reached at suffolkatcornell.edu, suffolkatcornell.edu. And the executive director is a lady by the name of Vanessa Lockel, extremely knowledgeable, and her staff that came to the meeting, they presented a really good program. And I encourage you to at least go online, check them out, and if you have any need for anybody to come or help you with any of the things I mentioned, plus many, many more, if you go to their website, look them up, and they'd be happy to hear from you. Okay? I appreciate the time, and I was so glad they came out with us today, or came out and met with us today. Supervisor, before you move on, just to finish up on the councilman's comments about the event coming up for Rockin' for the Homeless, I was just given some additional information on it. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. they're found we'll post this on our town website yeah so we can do that but i'm just looking to see if there's a website here um doesn't appear to be rocking for the homeless 2024.eventbrite.com is what it says here okay all right excellent thank you so much thank you supervisor can i just mention one other thing about the cornell cooperative i was there in february they had a symposium for local fresh fishermen and they were asking for help they were terrific educating everyone in the audience and where our town is trying to work together to give them a fresh local seafood festival here in riverhead sometime in the fall we spoke about that today and that would be so tremendous if we could do that here um i mean i know like oyster bay does the oyster festival and i think sayville does a seafood festival but that's up west we're out east we have a lot of people out here that we can draw from and for our fishermen to be able to showcase what they catch locally and what they sell locally i think we'd be awesome and i look forward to that and i'm sure the board would be more than willing to help to do whatever it needs to take to make this happen so yes i'm working with good stuff i'm working with townscape uh mr giordano and uh tara mcclintock from the cornell cooperative extension excellent so hopefully that i do think that's going to happen in the fall that would be so awesome thank you thank you we can have justin do a little flyer about cornell prep extension how to reach them and battle yeah i can give him the information and get something up absolutely that's exciting stuff okay all right uh we're going to move on in the meeting and now it's going to i'm going to open up the meeting to comments on any resolution comments on any resolution before us tonight uh actually i'm going to backtrack that a second we have correspondence uh and reports from town clerk okay yeah we had the four letters that came in you can visit them on the on the web or either on the town clerk page or on the agenda page uh one letter from salman mangano drainage on main street that was referred to the state dot uh we got a letter from harry denny's reference to dale levitt um and then we got two letters one from jamesport civic and one from barbara glass both revolving around the comp plan and their additions to that and that's it for correspondence i i texted back with mr dennis he used to be a school teacher in the rivette school system yes i remember him well from back in the day and i i let him reminded him of that and also answered what he was saying and i think that's a great point and i think that's a great point and i agree with him about him about him about him about him about him about him about him about him about him Yeah, I reached out to him too. And I had a long conversation with him on Saturday or Sunday. Sounds like all your school teachers are keeping a close eye on you. Well, you know what? It's because of all my school teachers that I sit here today. So that is something to keep in mind because, and I directly blame that young lady sitting in the back because you had to take, I think it was called speech or oral communications back in the day in high school. And you had to take it to graduate. And it was my biggest nightmare and fear in school was to public speak. And she got me through it. And I don't even think twice about it today. I probably talked too much today. But it's because of people like that that were in your life that mold you into what you are as an adult. And so I have to give thanks where they are due. And they're due to many of the teachers that I had in the Riverhead District. So that one in the back row especially. Well, I think Mr. Dennis also was very early on with way back when with Mr. Smith and all that when they first started . Absolutely. He has history with it. Everybody has. Everybody can think back and name a favorite teacher that they had. And in my case, I can name a couple. But, you know, and they were important in your life, whether you were a second grader or a senior in high school. It's the way it is. They impact your life and they're so needed. So we appreciate that. Okay. Now on the reports, we have total tax collection as of April 3rd is $96,250,000. Total tax collection as of April 10th was $96,650,000. The total utility received for the March of 2024 is $351,415.48. The total building department fees for March is $184,185.50. And the town clerk March monthly report is $12,389.82. And that concludes all our reports. Okay. We're now going to open it up to comments on any resolution. Do we have anybody in the audience who would like to comment on any resolution? I see nobody in the audience. Online, do we have anybody that would like to comment? We have one comment coming online. Maybe.
