1:00Thank you, Iris.
1:30Okay.
1:31Okay.
1:33This is a special meeting designed to turn or present the tentative 2025 budget that we have all worked on,
1:45but we present it officially to the town board today.
1:48And at this time, I would ask Town Clerk Wooten to please pass out the budget to the board members.
1:53Yes, sir.
2:00This is the first time, so the public knows, this is the first time the town board members will actually be seeing the town board budget,
2:09the tentative budget as a whole.
2:12But one thing we did this year that's never been done before is I had each town board member come in.
2:19They're a liaison to each of the departments that they work with, had them come in with each department.
2:26So they're aware of the budget process.
2:28They're aware of what.
2:30The cuts had to be made and what was given and what was taken away.
2:34And I think it really helped because in my eight years here of budgets, this is the first time I feel that the board has some idea of what this tentative budget is about already.
2:47And I think they always should have been involved in the process.
2:50And I think it worked out very well having them as their liaisons to each department.
2:55They have a really good idea of how this budget was formulated because I will say,
3:00that as a councilman, it was hard when you got presented this that somebody else did and you didn't have a say in.
3:09And now you have to go through it and decide is this a good budget or not.
3:12And you don't even know what the conversations were or where the cuts were made.
3:16And it's just part of, I don't want to say transparency, but it's part of good government to work together like that.
3:23So I'm very happy that the board members were involved in the participation of forming this budget.
3:29And.
3:30At this point in time, I would open up comments to the public.
3:36If anybody from the public would like to come up and talk.
3:38I know it's difficult.
3:39This will be actually posted online as we speak.
3:44So you'll get a good idea for it.
3:46And then after this town, special town board meeting, we're going to close it.
3:50And we're going to go into work session starting at 10 o'clock.
3:54And that's when the discussion will start on the budget with the board members.
3:58And the public can obviously.
4:00We're not weighing, but they can witness that, which again, really has never been done before.
4:04So that's where we're at.
4:07Having seen nobody from the public that wants to come up and comment.
4:10Nobody online.
4:12I would like to.
4:16Well, let's I guess.
4:17Do we make a resolution, Eric, to adopt it?
4:20I mean, to present it.
4:21Is there a resolution to have to do that?
4:23This is just a functionally.
4:25Functionally, all that needs to happen is that the town clerk needs to present it to the town board.
4:29At a town board meeting or a special town board meeting.
4:32That objective has been completed.
4:34So that that requirement is now satisfied.
4:39Okay.
4:39Very good.
4:40So at this point in time, I would ask for a motion to end the special town board meeting now that the budget has been tended.
4:47A budget has been handed out to all the board members.
4:50Motion.
4:52Second.
4:53All in favor.
4:54Aye.
4:54All opposed.
4:56Okay.
4:56Special town board meeting is closed.
4:59And.
4:59We will be back live again at 10 o'clock this morning for our work session where we will have a discussion on the budget.
